How aircraft fit is scored
Each open tender has a short note and 0 to 3 stars for how well an aircraft fits the job.
What the stars mean
- ★★★ Strong fit for the selected aircraft
- ★★★ Good match, but with extra hurdles such as local registration, a partner or a specific sensor
- ★★★ Weak fit: wrong platform, a specialist sensor, a small area or a long ferry
- – No flying (data only)
What we check
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| Platform | Does the tender ask for a fixed-wing aircraft, a helicopter or a drone? |
| Altitude | The flying height the job needs. |
| Payload and equipment | Fire tank, bucket, scooper, spray gear, or the sensor weight the job needs. |
| Endurance | How long the aircraft must stay in the air. |
| Low-level or over-water work | Some jobs need low flying or flying over water. |
| Area size | A small area may not pay for a long ferry. |
| Specialist sensors | LiDAR, magnetometer, gamma spectrometer, hyperspectral and others. |
| Local registration | Some buyers need a locally registered aircraft or a local partner. |
| Ferry distance | How far the aircraft must fly to reach the work. |
Fire tenders
Helicopters suit bucket and helitack jobs. SEATs suit tenders for single-engine or fixed-wing tankers (and spraying, vector control, bait drops). Large tankers suit amphibious, scooper or large and very large air-tanker tenders. A stated tank size or type is applied. Fixed-wing survey aircraft only fit fire spotting or air-attack coordination.
Example from a real listing
Geodetic reports from aerial survey (North Macedonia). Tender platform: Drone or fixed-wing.
